Previous Events

You might be wondering what Unigames has been up to this last little while, so here's a quick summary of what's happened since the start of September!

Crafts Workshop - Study Break, Friday the 5th of September @ 4pm

Our craft night in collaboration with UWASCA was an absolutely huge success with an attendance of 29! Many leather pouches were made.

Warhammer 40k Tournaments - Study Break, Saturday the 6th of September @ 8am and Week 12, Saturday 18th October @ 8am

Flesh & Blood Casual Game Day - Week 7, Wednesday 10th September @ 12pm

Our third casual Flesh & Blood game day was a good deal of fun! If you're in the clubroom definitely check out the cool new Flesh & Blood decks we purchased in our last book buy - they're FaB.

Quiz Night - Week 8, Friday the 19th of September @ 7pm

Quiz night ran super smoothly! We had an attendance of 96 people, congrats to our winning team and huge thanks to our subcom for all the hard work that went into the night. It was no trivia-l feat!

Pre-con League

The club has wrapped up our third Magic the Gathering Pre-con league for the year! The league was played over six weeks and was in collaboration with Tabletop ECU! Huge congrats to James Brieley our winner.

September OGM - Week 9, Monday the 19th of September @ 2 pm

At the OGM we held on the 22nd of September, long time member Donald Southerland was granted Unigames life membership. This has made Donald the fourth member of our club during our fourty-two year affiliation and is a huge deal. We also had a few constitutional ammendments pass changing various ways the club deals with elections. You can read all about both these things in the OGM minutes here.

Spiderman Pre-release - Week 8, Sunday 21st September @ 12pm

We had a pre-release for the new Spiderman magic set with an attendance of 4. Packs are still avaliable for sale in the clubroom.

Pokemon Tournament - Week 10, Friday 3rd October

Unigames' first Pokemon tournament happened earlier this month with an attendance of 9! Be sure to check out our cool new Pokemon decks avaliable for use in our clubroom - they're super effective.

Relay for Life - Week 10, Saturday 4th October - Sunday 5th October

Relay for life is an annual fundraiser hosted by UWA for Cancer Council. Unigames joined up with UniSFA and UWASCA to put together a team to run laps over the course the 16 hours event, and through our combined efforts (including Roleplay for Life held earlier in the year) the team is currently 7th on the UWA leaderboard! You can still donate here - bit.ly/unigains25

Mini Painting Day - Week 11, Monday 6th October @ 12pm

Mini painting days are a great chance to hang out, listen to music, work on painting minis and just chill. For the next one, we may be looking at providing some minis for people to paint instead of having to bring their own!

General Business

Guild awards

We were incredibly lucky to walk away with three SOC awards this year! Unigames received Runner-up Best Club. This award was such an honour for everyone and we want to extend thanks to our memberbase. Everything we on committee do is for you guys - to try and cultivate a community here among the tabletop nerds of UWA. Thank you so much to our wonderful gatekeepers who help keep our club running, to all the wonderful clubs we've run collaborative events with over the course of the year, and to everyone who comes to our events, hangs out in the clubroom, and makes Unigames such a generally cool place. Be nice and roll dice. The Best PROSH Small club award we recieved as a joint award with the wonderful UniSFA for our efforts at PROSH earlier in the year! Such a big thank you to everyone who was involved in the team, your wonderful costumes and enthastic fundraising efforts clearly made an incredible impact! And finally, Unigames' own Connor Brennan also received the Best President award! Connor is a long serving member of Unigames committee and has always been a warm and welcoming presence in our clubroom - we're very proud of him for this well deserved recognition.

Anyone there?

One last thing - we're running a little experiment this week to see how many people actually read our newsletter. So, if you wouldn't mind, click bit.ly/unigamesnewsltter so we can get a sense of numbers.
