Reports:

President (Alistair):

  • Hello everyone,
  • As most of you will know this has been my second year as president of this wonderful club, and my fourth year on its committee. I has certainly been a lot of time, effort and energy over the years, especially during 2020 but all of that has been worth it to help this club that I love so much grow. We have had a very strong year for the most part running almost all of our usual events for you very successfully. Unfortunately COVID has been taking a downturn recently which meant that we needed to cancel the Fresher Welcome and potentially more, but that will be left to the capable hands of next committee. We had a strong O Day with about 140 memberships, including 75 freshers, with a few more as well in the surrounding days. While this is historically low, it is because O Day itself was sparesely attended and we kept on pace with other clubs in terms of signups.
  • I very honestly do not know what I am going to do with myself after this but I am very proud of everyone on this years committee and how they have grown, it has been a delight to see some of them gain experience through the years. Thank you all for being so wonderful and I hope this year is even better.

Vice-President (Emerald):

  • Dearest Guinevere, I actually wrote this report before the meeting!
  • Firstly I would like to thank any and all freshers who have shown up to this meeting you have exceeded all expectations, and I'm sorry you didn't get a fresher welcome last night
  • I spent the year doing ikea trips, getting appendicitis days before camp and acting as westmittees babysitter
  • I hand-picked and retrieved and built the new furniture in the room, Ikea my beloved and beloathed
  • This included a bunch of low tables, a gaggle of shiny new bosnas and THE MONOLITH
  • One day,, it Will include a new gaming table,,
  • I was a Humans and Humans Camp leader, and days after surgery, on hella painkillers, took the trip down to lead camp and manage the fire so none of the paperwork had to change! And because bitches can't be trusted with fire.
  • Did Prosh, Organised Roleplay for Life, Helped plan and cooked for Pyramid Camp
  • Overhauled camp menu, can't wait to see it tested!
  • Did Hella food runs just so many food runs my bank statements are so fucked up about the amount of grocery shopping I do
  • I would like to round this out by really shining a light on the work my Westmittee did this year.
    • Gibbi built this idea from the ground up, and I watched as all of these brilliant young minds put their hearts into building a world and running it together!
    • It was a lot of meetings and late nights and compromising and a truly insane number of DnD sessions.
    • It had never been done before, and I know it was by no means easy, but the Westmarche was incredible thing, a workload that they handled admirably and they should all be incredibly proud of the work they've done.
    • I would like to formally, here, recognise Ethan, Chris, Luna, Freyja and Maia (and Vikrum) for their incredible efforts. You did a great job <3
  • I am SO incredibly proud of my committee this year, particularly everyone who served for the first time, you've all done wonderfully!
  • I am, deeply thankful for Alistair for being shackled to the position of President, I've told you before and I'll tell you again here that I really do think we needed you, and I am glad you stuck around for us :3
  • I really did adore my time here on committee, I, as always, am committed to serving this club, and I am eager to serve you one more year, if you choose to have me.

Treasurer (Jackie):

  • hi friends! it's me, jackie, ur treasurer for the past 2 years
  • good god i've done. some things lol
  • heres as brief of a summary i can manage for this report:
  • continued to offer my art/graphic design "skills" to the club, keeping true to my word back in 2019
  • written a BUNCH of grant applications, the usual
    • worked together with our sister club treasurers to write a can collection project! idk where it went tho it might've been deleted but i'll just resubmit it if it gets to that
  • overlooked and helped manage a bunch of events as usual - helping subcommittees that i'm not on with organisational things and sometimes making a budget for them
    • this included fixing halloween's distribution. Again. (through gritted teeth) L.M.A.O.
  • ran a successful charity vigil that raised 2k+
  • was unofficial camp leader for unigames camp & official camp leader for joint camp
  • attended all our big events and every overnight event from start to end (again lol)
  • almost singlehandedly entered all our board games into a library database
  • kept on being semi wargaming person by virtue of using our SPGs to apply for wargaming stuff, and meeting w older wargamers to try and make our wargaming stuff good
  • went to every single SOCPAC meeting
  • and of course, trying to hunt down the soc treasurer like a feral animal so we can get the money they owe us
  • this was my second year on committee and i continue to absolutely love every single second of my time here, and i continue to not regret it at all <333
  • uh i might've done other stuff but it's prob smaller lol
  • anyway here's the 2021-2022 financial statement

Secretary (Gwen):

  • I took the minutes for the committee meeting almost every week as part of my second year of committee
  • I was darkmittie for the Cameron Hall Quiz Night
    • That was... an event
  • I GM'd a couple of one shots and organised a couple as well
  • I helped organise "Unigames goes to Panto" events (it helped I was in most of the pantos) to help boost sister club friendship
  • I sent out newsletters (in the second half of the year) with a fun newsletter game "What Unigames Board Game Am I?"
    • I can now reveal that the answer the last newsletter game was indeed "Classic Games: Tumblin' Towers", well done to Jackie for getting is right first in only 2 hints
  • I did a bunch of old website updates (everything was like 2 years out of date) which included replacing the dragon, updating the regulations, updating the consitution and all that
    • To do this I had to learn to code in php which was fun
  • Even though I got really really busy towards the end, I really enjoyed being your secretary and am kinda sad to be leaving committee, but I look forward to seeing who else rises up to the responsibility and continues to help run this brilliant club we're all a part of
  • As always, bee nice, like dice.

Librarian (Vikrum):

  • Hi (get someone from Perth Mod to read this because I apparently sound like one of them, which frankly is the greatest insult levied against my character)
  • Outside of the expected stuff I did as a librarian I also came up with a classification system for board games to be used on the backend. I'll probably also do the same for the RPG classification system soon
  • I also did started up and ran for a long time, our first West Marches campaign, Westmarche so freshers who be loving D&D can play more D&D
  • we've bought I think 3-5 new indie RPG's from memory, and I'm really glad to see the kids get more into non- D&D games
  • Outside of that I ran all sort of RPG nights and helped out with camp as well
  • I'm really glad that I was with a bunch of supportive and lovely people in my final year of uni. I think really highly of the Frep and OCM's; they all did a great job and I hope they stick around to do more committee things
  • the exec are alright I guess
  • also let it be known that as librarian the running "bit" you'll deal with forever is "book buy please?"
  • There is no cure, it is simply the burden of being a librarian

Fresher Rep (Ethan):

  • Was fresher Rep for the year
  • Organised fresher campaigns in both sem 1 and sem 2 most of them lasted the first semester with a handful lasting to the end of the year.
  • Was on the sub com for charity vigil
  • Attend almost every big event except relay
  • Ran almost every wargaming event
  • Ran, organised and chaired 11 westmarche
    • Had a total of around 50 sessions among all westmarrche GMs
    • Handled conflict resolution for a handful problem players
  • Organised and ran refresher
  • Ran several one shots throughout the year
  • Did SLT
  • Minuted 7 meetings or so.
  • Was in a pretty cool fresher game with Unigames President Alistair of Unigames President Fame

OCM #1 (Luna):

  • My first year at Uni, Unigames, and Unigames Committee
  • Became a fixture of Cam Hall within the first couple weeks of being here.
  • Helped with events.
  • Helped with running Westmarche, did too much data entry as part of it.
  • Started a mini-project about sleeving Unigames board games
  • Became Mini-Librarian after Vikrum moves over east.
  • Continued the proud tradition of giving past presidents strikes.
  • I want to thank this Committee, Unigames, and Cam Hall community for making this year the best year of my life.

OCM #2 (Chris):

  • I helped organise and run some RPG one shot nights throughout the year, including many of the one-shots in first semester.
  • I also helped organize some board game nights later on in the year
  • I was the team captain for Unigames’ relay for life team ‘Unigains’ (shoutout to Unisfa’s team Unisfast for merging with our team for the relay)
  • I helped run the debates at Unigames’ camp in July alongside our librarian Vikrum and our fresher rep Gibbi
  • I ran some one-shots on various RPG events throughout the year, and I had a part in running Unigames’ Westmarche campaign, alongside various Unigames members who all did a fantastic job managing such a complex and expansive world.
  • I was on the subcommittee for Uncharity Vigil, and while it was unfortunate that the event was postponed, I have obtained some experience with how a subcommittee prepares to run an event.
  • Being a committee member over the last year has been an incredibly enriching experience and I hope that I can experience it again in the future.

OCM #4 (Nina):

  • I've been involved in a number of board game nights, which were v fun
  • Attempted to get a UWASCA collab event running, but due to events outside of anyone's control that didn't pan out
  • Helped organise Cam-Hall-o-Ween with Vikrum which was hectic, especially the initial struggle to find a venue, but in the end it went well and people had fun!
  • Overall it was a wonderful experience. I had an incredible time, made lots of friends, and can't wait to see where the club goes this year!
