Unigames August 2025 Newsletter

Hello everyone! Study Break has arrived not a moment too soon, and although the club room has been a little bit quiet with everyone staying home and resting, we are continuing to run weekly events and have quite a few major events coming up as well!

Keep reading to find out about our upcoming Warhammer Tournament, special collabs, Quiz Night, and how much money we raised at our recent Roleplay 4 Life!

Upcoming at Unigames

Warhammer 40k Tournament - Study Break, Saturday the 6th of September @ 8am

Our next Warhammer 40k Tournament is coming up in just a couple of days time! Tickets are still available for $30 each at this link. It's a 2k tournament structured in 3 rounds of games. Please see our discord for the info pack and we hope to see you there!

Flesh and Blood Casual Game Day - Week 7, Wednesday the 10th of September @ 12pm

Flesh and Blood has seen a massive resurgence in Unigames this year and so we are running a casual game day so people can get together and play it! You don't need any prior knowledge or even a deck to show up and play, there will be people to teach you and we have our new First Strike decks for you to borrow!

UWARC Collab - Week 8, Tuesday the 16th of September @ 3pm

We're looking forward to our upcoming collaboration with the UWA Rollerblading Club! This collaboration will involve everyone getting together and playing boardgames from 3-6pm before heading out to do an evening skate with the rollerbladers. Come along if you'd like to play some dexterity-based boardgames and then head out for a lovely skate around the river!

Quiz Night - Week 8, Friday the 19th of September @ 7pm

The annual Cameron Hall Quiz Night is coming up in two weeks now! All tickets have unfortunately sold out but we are excited to see those who have already purchased their tickets on the night. The theme is murder mystery and everyone is encouraged to show up in appropriately mysterious costumes (with there being a prize for whoever is best dressed!). Hopefully the attendees solve the murder that happened in the Tav, and maybe have some fun too!

Previous Events

You might be wondering what Unigames has been up to this last little while, so here's a quick summary of what's happened since the start of August!

Pokemon Deckbuilding Workshop - Week 3, Tuesday the 5th of August

Our Pokemon Deckbuilding Workshop was earlier last month and a great success! Multiple games of Pokemon were played, a potential tournament was discussed (make sure you keep your eyes peeled for announcements related to this!), and the new club decks were organised. We look forward to replacing our current proxy decks with new, tournament legal ones soon!

Age of Sigmar Tournament - Week 4, Sunday the 17th of August

A few weeks ago we had our first Age of Sigmar tournament and it went very well! It was a 1k tournament with 3 rounds, and was capped off with a raffle of a Games Workshop sponsored Spearhead box! We look forward to running more AOS tournaments in the future, but if you can't wait to scratch that wargaming itch, we have other Warhammer 40k tournaments coming up soon.

Roleplay 4 Life - Week 6, Saturday-Sunday 30th-31st of August

Roleplay 4 Life is our annual charity event where we Roleplay for 24 hours straight to raise money for the Cancer Council, and this year was a massive success! After RP4Life the Unigains goes UniSFAst team is at a combined $2187 raised, with the table who raised the most amount of money being Texas' Mothership game, raising a total of $655.92!

Thank you to everyone who participated and donated, whether you played games in person or watched the Twitch stream, we can't wait to run this event again next year and we hope everyone continues participating at the upcoming Relay For Life!
