• Still settling in to uni life...I need to be able to drive
• Repped Alien RPG at RPG O'day
• Introduced some freshers to the clubroom and encouraged new people to go to Oday and one shot night
• Attended variety one shot night and got to know more freshers and non freshers
• Wrote announcements for Fresher campaigns and GM's, helped some freshers with sign ups
• Failed my driving test :(
• Renegotiated our treaty with Tymora, Unigames patron goddess of luck, to only require 1 fresher sacrifice per week rather than 2 (reminder we need more candles and a new sacrificial knife)

• Ash:

  • Signed up a billion freshers
  • Helped out with RPG O-day and had like 18-20 people listen to me rant about Spire
  • Ran a Spire one shot for One Shot Night and got people hooked on spire (Poggers)

  • Read every interesting doc I could find in our drive
  • Started writing my spire fresher campaign < 3

  • Yippee yippee we're finally starting the new year (I've done nothing i ain't gonna lie)

• Ella:

  • ♡ Went to variety oneshot night, even though I was gods eepiest soldier with my dreadful Thursday timetable and had THE BEST TIME EVER. HYPE NENE!!!! Nene is the coolest one here fr. None of you can compete
  • ☆ Researched butterflies on the couch in club room and also did soooo much study in the club room I'm soooo ahead of my classes
  • ♡ passed gatekeeper training with flying colours (thank you Gen, you're awesome, MWAH!!!)
  • ☆ convinced 2 people to join unigames who otherwise would not have (one is now a financial member THANKS ASH MWAH, and the other will be eventually)
  • ♡ offered several people in the club room cookies (they all declined)

• Attendance: ~25-30
• Lots of people passed through, sadly not many tables because a lot of people were busy
• For the next event we need to plan it more rigidly
• Got feedback that we need more people to run it, should start it later, should organise the time based on when people running it are available and not when we want it set
• In spite of this attendees did enjoy it

Variety One-shot - Week 2, Thursday 06/03 @ 4pm

• Attendance: 43 (excluding GMs)
• 8 tables
• Very large fresher turn out, volume was handled quite well?
• We did organise more rooms, two CCZ rooms were used as well as the clubroom, loft and Esports were used
• Need to organise earlier than we did now because people dropped out and others had to step in when they didn't expect it

Horror One-shot Night - Week 4, Friday 21/03 @ 4pm

• Just two weeks away!
• Gen suggests we change it into Horror One-shot Night as lots of horror based RPGs were popular on Variety One-shot Night
• Committee agrees and we will be changing it to Horror One-shot Night

  • Some tables had statistically better chances than others of winning
  • Update challenges to be more interesting and worded less weirdly

• First SNoM following Intro to MtG so we're expecting it will be popular
• We could do SNoMs week on and week off, we had a very popular SNoM today despite it not being advertising
• Next SNoM would be week 7 as Tarkir is in week 6
  • We could run them week on/week off, changing what week is on or off if we have a prerelease that Sunday

New MTG Welcome Set Starter Decks

• The decks are in the Monolith!
• Old welcome sets can be given away either in chaff or just regularly for free, might warrant a message in MTG general
• Jeremy will stamp the decks either today or tomorrow
• We will be keeping the old decks until after Intro to Magic, we could give them out
  • We don't have any use for them anymore and can't sell them so giving them away to people who might use them is ideal

MTG Sponsorship Feedback

• Had feedback from Gibbi, Xane, Everest, James, and Ash on discord
  • The feedback can be found in a thread in the #feedback discord channel, the thread is named 'sponsorship sourcing of mtg'
• They feel we are prioritising Tactics over Good Games even though Good Games may be better for MTG specifically
• Tactics has messed up some of our pricing in the past
  • We need to check how much we were overcharged and get back to Jason from Tactics about it
• We could use Good Games for MTG and Tactics for things like Book Buys, we don't have to use one sponsor for everything, both sponsors have their own merits
• We definitely need to improve our communication with both sponsors, especially through proper channels (emails)
• We would use Good Games for prereleases but that doesn't mean we never do anything related to MTG with Tactics again

'Magic in Unigames' Document

• Former committee member Gibbi created a document looking into how we ran Magic over the course of 2024
• Touches on things like
  • How many events we ran related to MTG
  • The state of our club decks/reasons why we have club decks
  • Suggested improvements of our club decks and the amount of MTG events we organise
• Ash has already started working on potential changes based on Gibbi's suggestions

TCG O'Day - Week 3, Wednesday 12/03 @ 1 pm

• Just a couple days away!
• 4 EOI responses in total, a couple people who have not responded to the EOI will be attending
• Will have MtG, Netrunner, Keyforge, Flesh and Blood, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon
• People who run tables can get free cans (we have done this for RPG O'Day and Variety One-shot Night)

Intro to Pokemon Event - Week 3, Wednesday 12/03 @ 4pm

• Nene did some super awesome advertising
• Will bring our club decks and some of committees own decks (and we encourage participants to bring their own too)
• We will probably have a document people can read for new people because we don't have many people to help teach

Wargaming

Introductory Painting Day - Week 5, Saturday 29/03

• Ella will do the EMP and advertising but can't attend the event, Gen can oversee Ella but also can't attend
• Lucy can attend on the day, past OCM Nix has said in the past that she can attend
• Cam is graduating in first semester so we could ask about a consistent event in Semester 2, Lucy could liaise for this but later
• Need a time for the event, Gen will communicate with Cam about that

Warhammer Tournaments

• Venues responded to us finally
• We have to push the date back because venues did not get back to us and booked the rooms we needed without us, and on the weekend following there is another event on that some key tournament attendees will be attending instead
• Matt would be keen for a 1k event on the 5th of April, and a 2k event on the 12th or 19th of April
  • Committee are also keen for this
• We can do pizzas and cans, like we have at previous events

• Sam from Wonderful Wargaming reached out to us to organise an event/collaboration
  • Wasn't clear on what kind of event/collab
• Wonderful Wargaming is an LGBTQ+ Tabletop Gaming Club that meets South of the river twice a month, and runs Warhammer 40K tournaments quarterly
  • They don't do just wargaming despite the name! The twice monthly meet ups are boardgames and RPGs
• We will reply to them asking how they would like to collaborate
  • Eg: are they interested in joint tournaments, regular game collabs, painting days
  • We can give ideas of the kinds of events we run already, and boast our library
• Email was sent 2 and a half weeks ago and still no reply

AGM - 28/02 @ 1pm

• AGM happened, we had around 40 people vote
• We had a problem where 4 people, who were not Ordinary Financial Members, voted in our AGM when they were not meant to, they have all since become members
• There was a 4 day period where people could appeal the AGM, to our knowledge this has not happened and the time has since passed
• The voting at the AGM was also via anonymous ballot as instructed to us by SOC

PROSH - Week 4, Wednesday 19/03

• Someone from PROSH approached Connor at O-Day and had Connor fill out a form
• He wrote in random names and said he'd update it later
• Connor will be one of our marshals
• Ella is happy to attend, Nene can stay in the clubroom overnight but can't participate in actual PROSH
  • Wish Gen well for her test that Friday (she wishes she could attend)

Fresher Welcome - Week 1, Thursday 27/02 @ 4pm

• It happened!
• Attendance: ~80
• We had to get other tables and chairs from Guild to supplement the loft and clubroom furniture
• It went well, the volume was very loud but it was also 80 people
• Pizza went well and everything got eaten, no one got nothing
• We could advertise about gold coins better for next time or do bank transfers more by next semester/next year

• We have 65 people signed up for playing in the campaigns, we are seeking out more GM applications due to how high this number is
• We are hoping to have these sorted by week 4, but we've been set back by a couple of committee issues and lack of GMs

SOCPAC Meeting - Week 5, Tuesday 25/03 @ 6pm

• Next meeting is at the end of the month

• An SPG is a Special Project Grant, it's a grant to fund club events
• We need to decide what we want to use the SPG for, in the past we've used it for stuff like Quiz Night
• It means we can run events at a 'loss' because the grant is considered a profit
• These are due late April, they may be changing about whether they're collaborative or not

Handovers

• New committee please read your handovers if you haven't already!
• Nene will be writing a small handover for minuting so even if they're not at a meeting, the minutes always have a uniform format
• Mani of Tabletop ECU fame has also requested access to some of our past handovers to get a frame of reference for how he could organise his club
  • We are happy to do this, but will check over them first to make sure they're all suitable
• We will at some point write a handover for our AGMs and how to run them properly, this will have to be done after SOC finishes updating their documents, and after we make amendments to our constitution surrounding AGMs and voting
