• Uni is starting to get intense, but i get to play with acids and design hungarian resistance movements so its fun
• Got gatekeeper trained and held the room for the first time!
• Looked at all the freshers and gms for campaigns, begun figuring out who wants to go with who and how to assign groups. Going to try and get everyone with who they want to play with
• Need to begin working with committee homies for my tasks, but havent since sunday (does the fact that its only been 4 days give me an excuse?)
• Met more fresher and non fresher compadres around the club room! I got thrashed in pokemon tgc and skull, but i aint half bad at coup

• We will keep to horror systems but not instruct GMs on how horrific it should be (can be campy, fun, etc)

WestMarche

• Ash wants another WestMarche
  • For those unfamiliar, WestMarche is something Unigames has run once before, it is a public drop-in drop-out campaign ran by a bunch of GMs who work together to create a world that updates week by week (to feel like the campaign is passing in real time)
  • A second WestMarche was once planned but did not reach fruition
    • One of the problems with WestMarche is how many points of failure there are with so many people involved in running it
• Ash wants to wait for fresher campaigns to start and then put out an EOI, and if we have 16-20 people (we want at least 3 tables) who are interested, then we can run it
  • The amount of people who respond to an EOI isn't always representative of how many people will get involved
  • We need a loooot of people for it
• For the EOI it will be for people who are interested in playing, Ash would contact GMs he think would do a good job, ideally people who are consistent and will stick with it

• Aetherdrift is gone
  • Bloomburrow is the vibe, but it is very popular so we want a couple of boxes

MTG Precon League

• We will put out an EOI for another Precon League post Intro to Magic
• Ash has been working on it, specifically reworking the challenges to make them more interesting and balanced
• He's gotten feedback for them already from people he's asked and so far the reception has been positive
• Ash would like the league to run for 5 weeks this time, so the EOI would have to be out within the next week

Intro to Magic: The Gathering - Week 3, Thursday 13/03 @ 1pm

• It was today!

• It was great, says Ash
• People continued playing MtG afterwards and got very interested in SNoMs and precon leagues

SNoM - Week 4, Sunday 23/03 @ 11am

• EMP is done
• First SNoM following Intro to MtG so we're expecting it will be popular
• We could do SNoMs week on and week off, we had a very popular SNoM today despite it not being advertising
• Next SNoM would be week 7 as Tarkir is in week 6
  • We could run them week on/week off, changing what week is on or off if we have a prerelease that Sunday
• Connor just needs to put the advertising out, he will do this now that Intro to MtG is done

New MTG Welcome Set Starter Decks

• The decks have been stamped and entered into the library
• They are not able to be long term borrowed but can be short term borrowed
• The old decks have been given away to people who were interested in them

MTG Sponsorship Feedback

• Had feedback from Gibbi, Xane, Everest, James, and Ash on discord
  • The feedback can be found in a thread in the #feedback discord channel, the thread is named 'sponsorship sourcing of mtg'
• They feel we are prioritising Tactics over Good Games even though Good Games may be better for MTG specifically
• Tactics has messed up some of our pricing in the past
  • We need to check how much we were overcharged and get back to Jason from Tactics about it
• We could use Good Games for MTG and Tactics for things like Book Buys, we don't have to use one sponsor for everything, both sponsors have their own merits
• We definitely need to improve our communication with both sponsors, especially through proper channels (emails)
• We would use Good Games for prereleases but that doesn't mean we never do anything related to MTG with Tactics again

'Magic in Unigames' Document

• Former committee member Gibbi created a document looking into how we ran Magic over the course of 2024
• Touches on things like
  • How many events we ran related to MTG
  • The state of our club decks/reasons why we have club decks
  • Suggested improvements of our club decks and the amount of MTG events we organise
• Ash has already started working on potential changes based on Gibbi's suggestions
• We will look at this properly next week (hopefully)

• It was yesterday! It went very well!
• Attendance: 8
• There were brand new players who came away interested in learning more
• This could perhaps be enough people for a tournament...
  • But details for this would be figured out later

Introductory Painting Day

• Ella will do the EMP and advertising but can't attend the event, Gen can oversee Ella but also can't attend
• Lucy can attend on the day, past OCM Nix has said in the past that she can attend
• It will probably be a bring your own brush thing where people can use the club paints
• Everyone will have the same mini to paint
• We can have a small amount of brushes that will be purchasable on the day
  • We won't advertise these though, we want to encourage people to use their own brushes
• We will be buying minis to paint instead of 3D printing them, but we will also have to build and prime these minis
• Due to a bunch of logistical stuff for the event, we will be pushing it back to a currently unknown date, probably during study week if we can manage it

  • Wish Gen well for her test that Friday (she wishes she could attend)

SOCPAC Meeting - Week 5, Tuesday 25/03 @ 6pm

• Next meeting is at the end of the month
• We'll figure out who's going once it's closer

Tenancy

• Connor is planning on talking to SOCPAC about the Guild Master Plan and the renovations
• We (and other clubs) need to know when this will happen
  • Not knowing this date means we can't make more permanent changes in the club room (like new carpet tiles)
  • We don't want to put cool, permanent things in the room if we can't keep using the room
• Connor was rebuffed and will talk to SOC specifically about it

SPGs

• An SPG is a Special Project Grant, it's a grant to fund club events
• We need to decide what we want to use the SPG for, in the past we've used it for stuff like Quiz Night
• It means we can run events at a 'loss' because the grant is considered a profit
• These are due April 18th, they may be changing about whether they're collaborative or not
• Could be used for something like Cameron Ball for sem 2, but for sem 1 we are still unclear
• Could apply for Charity Vigil? Maybe? Or [Redacted]
  • Maybe not [Redacted] because apparently for events to qualify for an SPG they have to take place on campus

Lecture Bashing Policies

• UWA has recently instituted rules that restrict the ability of students and clubs to make announcements at lectures, announcements are now only permitted at the ends of lectures with the direct approval of the Director of Student Life
• This affects handing out flyers and posters in lectures, you cannot do this unless the uni approves
• The UWA Student Guild has put out an open letter to say they oppose these new rules, UniSFA has promoted this letter and we could too
• We can make an announcement similar to UniSFA and put it on our discord

• Mani of Tabletop ECU fame has also requested access to some of our past handovers to get a frame of reference for how he could organise his club
  • We are happy to do this, but will check over them first to make sure they're all suitable
• We will at some point write a handover for our AGMs and how to run them properly, this will have to be done after SOC finishes updating their documents, and after we make amendments to our constitution surrounding AGMs and voting
