• Connor emailed Good Games and they are happy to organise the prerelease for us, we are still organising it with them, but once it's sorted we will let Tactics know we're doing the prerelease with GGs

MTG Sponsorship Feedback

• Had feedback from Gibbi, Xane, Everest, James, and Ash on discord
  • The feedback can be found in a thread in the #feedback discord channel, the thread is named 'sponsorship sourcing of mtg'
• They feel we are prioritising Tactics over Good Games even though Good Games may be better for MTG specifically
• Tactics has messed up some of our pricing in the past
  • We need to check how much we were overcharged and get back to Jason from Tactics about it
    • Anna has checked the receipts, we are looking at maybe 400-500 dollars of overcharging (from past transactions as well as recent ones)
    • An email about this will be sent soon to get it rectified
• We could use Good Games for MTG and Tactics for things like Book Buys, we don't have to use one sponsor for everything, both sponsors have their own merits
• We definitely need to improve our communication with both sponsors, especially through proper channels (emails)
• We would use Good Games for prereleases but that doesn't mean we never do anything related to MTG with Tactics again

'Magic in Unigames' Document

• Former committee member Gibbi created a document looking into how we ran Magic over the course of 2024
• Touches on things like
  • How many events we ran related to MTG
  • The state of our club decks/reasons why we have club decks
  • Suggested improvements of our club decks and the amount of MTG events we organise
• Ash has already started working on potential changes based on Gibbi's suggestions
• A lot of the changes to club decks will be in line with Gibbi's suggestions, we are looking at updating our club decks as well as buying and creating new ones
  • Noyan Darr and Unesh are being removed
  • Killian may be getting replaced
  • Horde of Notions will get an upgraded
  • Jhoira will be reworked and converted into Shao Jun
  • 2 new decks: Thalisse and Treebeard
• We will also get rid of some of the old ones, most of the people who donated these cards are fine for us to auction them

Other TCGs

Pokemon Tournament

• Nene is conceptualising a Pokemon tournament
• This cannot be an official tournament as we are not a store and are not eligible
• This means we can use proxies but cannot award points for the tournaments, also means we don't get cooler store exclusive prize packs, but this also makes the event cheaper than a standard tournament
• Would need to buy a booster pack box and use that as prize handouts, one for each attendee and then one more for each round you win
• Would also have to wait until after April 11th as that is when the next standard rotation is out

Wargaming

Introductory Painting Day

• Ella will do the EMP and advertising but can't attend the event, Gen can oversee Ella but also can't attend
• Lucy can attend on the day, past OCM Nix has said in the past that she can attend
• It will probably be a bring your own brush thing where people can use the club paints
• Everyone will have the same mini to paint
• We can have a small amount of brushes that will be purchasable on the day
  • We won't advertise these though, we want to encourage people to use their own brushes
• We will be buying minis to paint instead of 3D printing them, but we will also have to build and prime these minis
• Gen did not talk to Cam (whoopsies) she's talking to him now
• Ideally we want this event in study week

• The announcement for the event was put out by Connor today

Intro to Wargaming - Week 4, Tuesday 18/03 @ 5pm

• It was a couple days ago!
• Attendance: 9
• Had 5 people playing Root, 2 people Kill Team, and upstairs Nix was running Blood Bowl
• Don't think it ran particularly well, Gen thinks next time we should style it more like TCG O'Day where people promote particular games
• In Warhammer stores they often have set ups of the game with simplistic versions of the games to display basic gameplay mechanics, we could emulate this, so people can engage but not know exactly how to play
• Also makes it easier for the displayers to teach

Uncharity Vigil - 1st - 2nd February

• Stretch goals we reached:
  • New paints
    • These have been paid for but we won't receive them until March (likely)
  • New stationery box
  • New Eunigames playmats for the clubroom (Commission)
    • 4 playmats
    • We could work with Good Games to do this, would have to email them and discuss
    • We want to commission Jackie
      • Jackie did our last playmats and they are very very good
    • This requires a larger discussion, we will wait a bit on this
    • Can open up for pre-order as well, this was done last time

• We had 12 people participate, between us and UniSFA

• Anna, Ash, Connor and Lucy can definitely be there for full duration
• Ella can be there from 1, Jeremy can maybe be there at start, Gen can be there to help packdown
• Nene booked an EFTPOS machine, they'll email finance beforehand to sort it out again

Charity Vigil

• First meeting was on Monday
• Motion to approve a raffle prize budget of $60
  • Passes unanimously
• Dates:
  • ICONs suggested the ANZAC long weekend, UniLan is on this weekend now and UCC and eSports are both participating so this date no longer works
  • Other pick would be the Easter weekend, it was on Easter last year and we got a bunch of negative feedback (lots of people couldn't make it)
  • The date we then discussed is in week 9, either the Friday-Saturday (2nd-3rd) or the Saturday-Sunday (3rd-4th) of May
    • Friday-Saturday means people can come from class, which means higher attendance probably (at least early in the night)
    • People also like to keep their weekend free, perhaps for recovering from the event also
    • We are in agreeance about Friday-Saturday being ideal
• Specific Unigames events:
  • Pay-to-win boardgames
    • Jeremy and Connor already wrote a guide for this that we can improve!
  • Pay-to-win RPGs
  • Connor organising a Ta Yu tournament with a chess clock
    • Will need playtesting
    • Other boardgame tournaments would be good

    • Connor is buying a coffee machine (for his home not the club) to torture his grandma, he can bring this coffee machine and he and Jeremy can take coffee orders for five dollars (that we then give to charity)
    • This will affect the EMP because we have to factor making and 'selling' food into it, and this makes some things more strict
    • Lucy has an alternative coffee machine also
    • Beans budget? Depending on the coffee machine Connor gets, he'll use instant coffee (buying beans also means we have to get a coffee grinder)
    • Milk budget? We milk Jeremy (or he steals it from his workplace)
  • MtG draft with the packs we're selling in the clubroom
    • May have to buy a separate booster box for the event, we would lose money on this but it is for charity
    • People could vote on a set or we ask Good Games for the packs they have that aren't moving
  • We could auction our [REDACTED] name
    • People put in their suggestions on discord, people react to the ones they like, and committee prunes them before allowing votes (with however much money people spend in a single transaction in Unigames) on the names
    • This would affect advertising, but we could put out an unnamed camp advertisement and then follow it up with the proper name announcements

SOCPAC Meeting - Week 5, Tuesday 25/03 @ 6pm

• Connor is planning on talking to SOCPAC about the Guild Master Plan and the renovations
• We (and other clubs) need to know when this will happen
  • Not knowing this date means we can't make more permanent changes in the club room (like new carpet tiles)
  • We don't want to put cool, permanent things in the room if we can't keep using the room
• Connor was rebuffed and will talk to tenancy specifically about it

SPGs

• An SPG is a Special Project Grant, it's a grant to fund club events
• We need to decide what we want to use the SPG for, in the past we've used it for stuff like Quiz Night
• It means we can run events at a 'loss' because the grant is considered a profit
• These are due April 18th, they may be changing about whether they're collaborative or not
• Could be used for something like Cameron Ball for sem 2, but for sem 1 we are still unclear
• Could apply for Charity Vigil? Maybe?

Lecture Bashing Policies

• UWA has recently instituted rules that restrict the ability of students and clubs to make announcements at lectures, announcements are now only permitted at the ends of lectures with the direct approval of the Director of Student Life
• This affects handing out flyers and posters in lectures, you cannot do this unless the uni approves
• The UWA Student Guild has put out an open letter to say they oppose these new rules, UniSFA has promoted this letter and we could too
• We can make an announcement similar to UniSFA and put it on our discord

Missing BOTC Stuff

• We were alerted in the Discord server that some parts of our BOTC game are missing, specifically the Seamstress 'no ability' token
• We should do an audit and make sure all other items are in there
• The company that creates BOTC does not charge for replacement pieces, but they do charge for shipping, so we should make sure we don't need more before ordering any
• Jeremy looked, he will be asking the guy who reported this issue to help look for missing pieces

Handovers

• Nene will be writing a small handover for minuting so even if they're not at a meeting, the minutes always have a uniform format
• Mani of Tabletop ECU fame has also requested access to some of our past handovers to get a frame of reference for how he could organise his club
  • We are happy to do this, but will check over them first to make sure they're all suitable
• We will at some point write a handover for our AGMs and how to run them properly, this will have to be done after SOC finishes updating their documents, and after we make amendments to our constitution surrounding AGMs and voting
